Are you interested in collaborating across disciplines? Trying out emerging technologies? Playing with perspectives for a fresh look at a project? Then join us! On Monday, 28 November, from 7:00pm-9:30pm, the Summerhall Cafe will feature the Makers Marks Project, the Edinburgh Hacklab, and ASCUS Art & Science, three examples of Edinburgh groups working to make connections across art and science to build unique relationships for developing innovative projects.
The evening will highlight the outputs of the Makers Marks Project: unique, interactive, glass and sound works developed by an international team of glass artists, engineers, composers, and sound designers. Members of the team will be on hand to chat about the work and you will be able to interact with the pieces. The Edinburgh Hacklab, a growing makers’ space, and ASCUS Art & Science, an organization dedicated to developing art-science intersections, are both housed at Summerhall and will be opening their doors to their labs for tours and an introduction to their spaces. Refreshments and pies available while they last! The event is free, but booking is essential, please click here to book (if you’re not able to get a ticket in time, attendees will be encouraged onto the Royal Dick pub at Summerhall following the event for further networking).
Have a look. Take a listen. Touch the glass. Tour the labs. Connect with us! Connect with each other!
