With most labs being dedicated to high level research and full of expensive equipment, approaching these spaces for interest or for a project you had in mind is incredibly daunting. ASCUS lab is a facility for users to interact directly with the tools and ideas of science and art through DIY experimenting. The lab is accessible to anyone no matter your level of experience; whether you are an individual wanting to use scientific equipment for a project or just out of interest, a small business needing the space and equipment to test your concept, or needing a lab space to host a workshop or film in. Our lab is accessible through:
Lab Membership
A monthly subscription for ongoing or long-term projects that requires lab equipment and bench space.
Lab sessions (Coming Soon!)
The perfect solution for once-off experiments that won’t require many sessions
Microscopy sessions
Whether you have something specific to observe, or just want to get lost in the unseen world, microscopy sessions are for everyone!
Themed skills sessions (Coming Soon!)
If you need help perfecting a technique, or just have some time on your hands and want to learn a new skill and try your hand at some of the experiments done day-to-day in a lab, our lab technician will be happy to assist.
Hire
Our lab can be hired out for workshops, running courses, filming, and anything else that might require lab space, microscopes or other science equipment.
If you have any questions about the different access options after visiting the respective webpages, or want to discuss your ideas, and what might be possible, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at lab@ascus.org.uk, we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.
