Atopic Art Workshop – Glasgow Science Centre
We had a great time for the second of our three Atopic Art workshops. Glasgow Science Centre is an ideal venue for the workshops as families where also able to explore the science centre as well as taking part in the workshops. Artists Josie Vallely and Trevor Gordon ran the workshops with more clay modelling and pillow painting fun!
Amazing shapes and creatures where created during Trevor’s workshop. The free and tactile nature of the workshop gave children the chance to really get their hands dirty by playing around with different textures and mould making. Children were also able to take their clay models home with them.
While in Josie’s workshop an explosion of colourful dreams where being painted and drawn onto pillow covers. Sandra photographed the children with their dream pillows with some children slightly more camera shy then others! They were then guided into the interview booth where they were able to talk a little bit about their eczema and dream pillow.
The workshops gave the children and their families the chance to meet others also affected by the condition building children’s confidence and most importantly letting their imaginations take over. The next workshop will take place in Inverness, The Smithton Church on 16th May 2015. Check back here to see how everything went.
