ASCUS Lab activities at the 2016 Sceince Festival

During the Edinburgh International Science Festival 2016 we opened ASCUS Lab, the largest publicly accessible lab in the UK for experimentation in art and science, to the general public. For over two weeks, we ran an ambitious programme of workshops, where members of the public had the chance to participate in a wide range of hands-on experiences, doing different art-science activities in our lab.

We are excited to tell you that we are busy working away behind the scenes so that we can bring you, our monthly membership and a year round programme of workshops, that will give artists, scientists and members of the public, the opportunity to connect together and create projects.

It is important to know that to become a member of ASCUS Lab you will not necessarily need to have lab experience or knowledge, as we will be ready to help you – more details about our range of taster workshops and skills courses, giving you the tools and skills you need to do your own experiments COMING SOON! Once your training is complete, we will have skilled technicians on hand, during open lab sessions, who can advise and assist if required. (one-to-one training sessions will available to book)

For now to give you a flavour of the different projects that have already happened in our lab, have browse through our gallery and keep checking back as we launch more details of our programme soon. Don’t miss your opportunity to join our community!

If like the photos and want to see more, please check out our albums on the ASCUS Facebook page. To stay updated as we get closer to our launch date, sign up to our mailing list, like us on Facebook and follow on Twitter!
