Transmissions is an exhibition of artworks that have been created during our micro-residency earlier this year at the Centre for Immunity, Infection and Evolution (CIIE). Having returned to Edinburgh from LifeSpace, Dundee, this work returned to Edinburgh to showcase at Tent Gallery, Edinburgh College of Art in November 2015. About the micro-residency
The ASCUS CIIE micro-residency at the Centre for Immunity Infection and Evolution (CIIE) in the University of Edinburgh took place from January to March 2015. Researchers at the CIIE collaborate with other scientists on a daily basis but for this ASCUS micro-residency they joined forces with four artists working in different media, for a project that intertwines art and science and develops new perspectives on the CIIE’s research. The artists have spent fourteen days over a three month period engaging with the academics, presenting in the exhibition Transmissions the outcomes of their exploration of the microbial world
