Poles Apart?

Thursday 17 May 2011, 7.00 – 9.00 pm

The White Horse Bar, 266 Canongate (Royal Mile), Edinburgh
A lively and well-attended group discussion about Art and Science and how to bring the two ‘poles’ closer together.

ASCUS members kickstarted the discussion about Art and Science with background information on the nature of Art/Science Collaborations, excerpts from the well known lecture ‘The Two Cultures and the Scientific Revolution’ by C.P. Snow (1959), a look at successful Art/Science Collaborations and by posing the question ‘Is Art an example of magical thinking?’
