With our five week microscopy course now underway we would like to take the time to say hello to the new members of the course and welcome them to our lab community! We hope you enjoyed the introduction week and are excited for next week where we will be doing some sample collecting and slide making with both wet and dry mounts.

As we mentioned, feel free to bring along samples you might spot during the week and we will help you mount them so you can uncover them on a microscopic level and here are images we took of some of the samples under the microscope this week. Please feel free to share your own snaps, we’d love to see them, and any interesting samples you collect during the week here. See you next Tuesday!

It will proceed, no doubt to an exhibition in due course; but I hope that each and all will try to share it with appropriate medical colleagues and others: friends and professional colleagues. I shall also once again nudge ASCUS to take it on board in their microscopical classes. We have plenty of slides of carcinomas of different kinds. Some images of them, from the slides, would be most appropriate, if suitable. (This is the same text, but a variant of Jane's posting, which I shared earlier with the Group: National and Regional Associates of the Artiscience Library. See more on her timeline.) ...
