Artists are Present is an initiative created by ASCUS that aims to place artists at the heart of scientific conferences. Through this initiative we work in partnership with conferecnes to enable attandence and participation of artists with an interest in and/or a pactice that is sympathtic to the content and themes being presented. Artists are Present aims to:
- Create opportunities for artists to engage with science and the scientists attending a particular conference towards forming new work, ideas and potentially new collaborations fusing art and science.
- Support art-science knowledge exchange
- Share creative approaches to current scientific research offering new and different perspectives on science to scientists
- Highlight ways in which art-science practices can form innovative approaches to public engagement

We are proud to be announcing our Artists are Present initiative launching in partnership with the British Neuroscience Association. We have artist places available for the upcoming BNA2015: Festival of Neuroscience taking place in Edinburgh from the 12-15 April 2015.
